QR Code Generator
This free QR code generator turns any link or piece of text into a code you can style to match your brand and download as a PNG or an SVG. It runs entirely in your browser, so nothing you type is uploaded, there is no sign-up, no watermark, and no limit on how many you make.
The codes are static: the content is encoded into the pattern itself rather than pointing at a redirect somebody else controls. Yours keeps working whether or not this page does.

How to make your QR code
Five steps, and nothing to install.
- Paste what you want to encode. A link, plain text, an email address or a phone number all work.
- Pick a dot style and a corner style. Six dot styles and three corner styles, all of them scannable.
- Set your colors. Foreground and background, by picker or by hex. Keep the foreground clearly the darker of the two.
- Add a center logo if you want one, then raise Error correction to Quartile or High so the covered area still reads.
- Choose a size and download. SVG for anything printed or resized, PNG for screens.

What people use QR codes for
The same code works on a screen, on paper and on a product. These are the jobs it gets asked to do most.
Restaurant menus
Print one on the table and guests open the current menu, not a laminated copy from two seasons ago.
Business cards
Put your contact details or your portfolio behind a code, instead of a URL nobody is going to type.
Event check-in
One code per ticket or per door, scanned straight off a phone screen.
Product packaging
Send people to setup instructions, warranty registration or a how-to video without reprinting the box.
Wi-Fi access
Encode a WIFI: string and guests join without anyone reading a password out loud.
Posters and signage
A code big enough to scan from across the room beats a long URL nobody can read from there.
Frequently asked questions
How the generator works, what happens to your data, and how to get a code that scans first time.
Does the QR code expire or stop working?
No. This makes a static QR code: the content is encoded into the pattern itself, not stored on a server and not redirected through one. It keeps working for as long as whatever it points to is live. Nothing here counts scans or tracks who scanned.
Does my content get uploaded anywhere?
No. The generator runs entirely in your browser. The text you type, the colors you pick and any logo you add never leave your device, and nothing is kept once you close the tab.
Should I download the PNG or the SVG?
Use SVG for anything that will be printed or resized, because it stays sharp at any size. Use PNG for email, slides and the web. The Size slider sets the PNG’s pixel dimensions, from 200 up to 600, and has no effect on the SVG, which scales freely.
What does Error correction actually change?
How much of the code can be covered, smudged or torn and still scan. Low recovers about 7% of the pattern, Medium 15%, Quartile 25% and High 30%. The cost is density: higher levels pack in more modules, so the code needs more room to stay readable. It starts on Medium.
Can I put a logo in the middle?
Yes. Drop in a PNG, JPG, SVG or WebP, or browse for one. A logo hides part of the pattern, so raise Error correction to Quartile or High whenever you add one, and keep the logo small enough that the three corner squares stay completely clear.
Can I use our brand colors?
Yes. Set the foreground and background with the swatches, or pick any color with the color pickers. Keep the foreground clearly darker than the background. Light on dark, or two colors of similar lightness, is what most codes that will not scan turn out to be.
My code will not scan. What is wrong?
Nearly always one of three things: not enough contrast between foreground and background, a center logo covering too much of the pattern at a low error-correction level, or the code being printed smaller than its density allows. Shorten the content, raise error correction, or print it larger.
How much can I put in one code?
There is no fixed limit here, but length has a price: the more you encode, the denser the pattern and the harder it is to scan quickly or at a small size. For links, use the shortest URL you have rather than one carrying tracking parameters.
